"Our family’s experience with State Farm has been extremely disappointing. Our concerns began with a significant premium increase and a lack of guidance or oversight regarding changes affecting our family’s insurance coverage. When we asked questions, responses were not always timely, and we often felt that our concerns were not fully addressed.

The situation became even more frustrating when our young driver’s vehicle was declared a total loss following an accident. This was already a stressful and upsetting time for our family, yet we were not clearly guided through the total-loss process. We repeatedly asked questions about the vehicle’s valuation and how the settlement amount was calculated, but we did not receive complete or understandable answers.

We specifically worked with Seth Groenweg, Senior Agent in Overland Park, and Samantha Ellis, Claim Specialist. In our experience, neither provided the level of communication, explanation, or support our family needed. We felt as though we had to research the process ourselves and repeatedly follow up instead of being walked through our options and rights.

Insurance is supposed to provide reassurance and support when a family experiences a difficult event. Unfortunately, we did not feel valued, informed, or taken care of during ours. I hope State Farm reviews how this matter was handled and improves its communication and support for other families, especially those dealing with a young driver’s first serious accident and total-loss claim."
